To teach is to touch a life forever

Individual Instruction Moderate to Severe Program

Mrs. Escoto & Mr. Knopp

Welcome to the moderate to severe program at West Hills High School.  A description of our program is as follows:

Students with moderate to severe disabilities are offered the opportunity to grow and develop to their maximum potential while attending classes with peers who may or may not have a disability.  All students’ programs are developed by the IEP team and implemented on this comprehensive campus utilizing a modified inclusion model as appropriate for each student’s needs.  Students who are in non-self-contained classes are supported by a team of two Special Education teachers, Adult Aides, and, as appropriate, peer tutors.  The IEP team will decide the focus of each student’s course of study, ie. life skills versus academic skills.
