There are no limits to your learning

Introduction

Welcome to my web page! I am really glad that you decided to venture to my web world. During this school year 09-10   I teach reading for 2 periods and Home Economics for 2 periods and I collaborate with Ms J in dance. I enjoy teaching and helping all of my students learn new things. I hope you enjoy being in my class. I will do my best to help you learn new things.

Here are a few tips to help you become successful in my classes. There is a calendar and homework requirement. When you walk in the first thing you do is get out your calendar and homework. You write in your calendar the homework that is listed on the right side of the board. This is done everyday of the week. Friday's homework is a signature from your parent on the calendar for that week. I check this on the following Monday.

The purpose of the calendar is to help you stay organized and know what is expected of you in your classes. It is my hope that you will continue to use a calendar when you leave high school to help you remember when and where you are supposed to be during the week.

The purpose of homework is to help you learn how to fulfill responsiblites that is given to you to do throughout the week. It is designed to help you remember what was taught during class and help you review for the test on the following Friday. Late assignments are accepted as long it is within the 6 week grading period.

Grades are as follows:  Performance- calendar 20%
                                     Class                             40%
                                     Homework                   30%
                                     Tests/quizzes                10%

Progress reports will be given every 6 weeks with student monitoring reports mailed out every 3 weeks for students that are failing or in danger of failing.

Behavior expectations: I follow and enforce the school behavior code. The behavior code is located on the school web site. In class I give  3 warnings for inapropriate behavior. After the 3rd warning you will be sent outside to fill out a choice form, where you specify what problem you had and how I can help you . I talk to you about  your behavior and you come back in class. If the behavior persists, I will either send you to TAS or lunch detention on that day. Your parent will be called and I will ask them to help you with your behavior.

Electronic devices  will be confiscated if seen or heard. No exceptions

Dress code is appropriate attire, sleeves are required. To see more specifics see dress code on the schools web site.
